About Me

As the mother of five children, two of whom are now grown, I spend my days wearing various hats.  Although my family has been my primary focus over the past two decades, I have also spent much of my time teaching, tutoring, bookselling, and writing.  Currently, I live with my family in southern Tennessee.  While homeschooling my son, I teach secondary English and history for an online school, and I tutor students in three self-designed courses through my website http://www.onceuponapen.studio/.  Over the years I have also published a variety of articles, poems, stories, and educational materials for various magazines and companies.  In 2021 my first two books were released by Ignatius Press:  Before Austen Comes Aesop:  The Children's Great Books and How to Experience Them and Maria von Trapp and Her Musical Family.
